Porcelain veneers
Thin facings bonded to the front of the tooth, changing shape, shade and alignment together. Best where several front teeth need work at once.
02Dental bonding
Tooth-coloured composite shaped directly onto the tooth to close a gap or repair a chip. Usually one visit, and far less enamel removed than a veneer.
03Teeth whitening
Dentist-supervised whitening, in the office or with custom trays for home. Often the only thing someone actually needs.
04Clear aligners
Invisalign and ClearCorrect straighten mild to moderate crowding without brackets — sometimes removing the need for veneers entirely.
05Crowns
Where a tooth is too damaged for a filling, a crown rebuilds it in a shade that matches the teeth around it.
06Smile makeover
Several treatments planned together rather than one at a time, when the whole smile is the goal.
Health first, appearance second.
Cosmetic work sits on top of whatever is underneath it. Veneers bonded over active decay, or crowns fitted where the gums are inflamed, will fail — usually expensively and usually sooner than anyone hoped.
So the first appointment is an examination, not a colour chart. If there is decay or gum disease to deal with, we deal with that first. It is less exciting and it is the reason the result lasts.
It also sometimes changes the answer. People who arrive asking about veneers occasionally leave having booked whitening and a single bonding repair, because that was genuinely all that was needed.
Bonding or veneers?

Bonding

Veneers are permanent in the sense that the tooth underneath has been reshaped. That is worth understanding before you commit, and we will make sure you do.

Cosmetic dentistry is the easiest part of this job to oversell. Eight veneers is a bigger invoice than two — and for plenty of people, two is the right answer.
If whitening would get you most of the way there, we will say so. If the tooth bothering you is at the back where nobody sees it, we will say that too.
