ClearCorrect straightens teeth with custom-made removable plastic trays. Each one is designed to move your teeth a small, precise amount towards the target position, and you work through them in sequence.
Aligners are worn 20 to 22 hours a day and come out for eating, drinking and brushing. That last part is not a detail — the 20 hours is what makes the treatment work, and it is the single thing under your control.

The retainer is not optional.
Teeth move for as long as you have them. The reason post-treatment relapse is such a common thing to treat is that people stop wearing retainers once the teeth look right.
We discuss retainers before treatment finishes, not after, because it is the part that decides whether you are doing this once or twice.
Where aligners are the wrong tool
Clear aligners handle mild to moderate cases well. Severe crowding, significant bite discrepancies and cases needing substantial skeletal change are often better treated with fixed braces or by an orthodontic specialist.
We will say so at the consultation if that is your situation, and refer where a referral is the right answer. An aligner plan that cannot reach the result is worse than no plan.
