How long do dental veneers last?
Porcelain veneers placed on healthy tooth structure by an experienced clinician typically last 10–20 years with proper maintenance. The most common causes of early failure are placing veneers on structurally compromised teeth, unresolved bruxism (grinding), and inadequate marginal sealing. We assess all of these factors before recommending veneers.
Is Invisalign effective for adults? How does it compare to traditional braces?
Yes – Invisalign is clinically effective for mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and certain bite corrections in adults of any age. For more complex bite issues or severe misalignment, fixed orthodontic treatment may produce more predictable results. Dr. Kasabji will assess your case and tell you honestly whether Invisalign is appropriate or whether an orthodontic referral is the better path.
How long does professional teeth whitening last?
In-office professional whitening results typically last 1–3 years with proper maintenance, depending on dietary habits and oral hygiene. Coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco accelerate re-staining. We can provide take-home touch-up trays to extend your results. Note: whitening does not affect the color of existing crowns, veneers, or bonding.
Does cosmetic dentistry hurt?
Procedures that involve enamel preparation – veneers, crowns, bonding on sensitive areas — are performed under local anesthesia. Patients experience pressure but not pain during the procedure. Post-procedure sensitivity for 24–72 hours is common with veneer preparation. Nitrous oxide sedation is available for any cosmetic procedure at our Wethersfield office.
